Promoting Oral Health in Young Children: A Resource Guide
To help promote oral health and prevent oral disease in young children, the National Maternal and Child Oral Health Resource Center produced Promoting Oral Health in Young Children: A Resource Guide (3rd ed.):
This guide provides an overview of the topic and features descriptions of and links to materials on data and surveillance, policy, professional education and training, public education, and state and local programs. Selected materials include a report on challenges the COVID-19 pandemic has posed to children’s oral health, a report about parents’ beliefs and experiences related to when to start dental visits, and a brief about Medicaid coverage for dental codes that addresses barriers to oral health care. The resource guide also includes descriptions of organizations that can provide additional support for activities that promote the availability of high-quality oral health care for young children.
