This resource provides information from annual questionnaires sent to oral health program directors in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S.-associated jurisdictions for tracking progress toward meeting Healthy People oral health objectives. Contents include an overview of the content, history, methods, limitations, permissions for use, and related links. Data from the five most recent synopses are available for generating lists, tables, or maps containing oral health summaries for each state and territory; states and territories that support an oral health program; the percentage of people with public water systems receiving fluoridated water; states and territories with a full-time dental director by year; and state and territorial trends in demographics, infrastructure, workforce, administration, budget, and programs across multiple years. The data collection instruments are also available from the website.

This curriculum is designed to help safety net dental clinic staff learn about all aspects of financing a safety net dental clinic and ensuring that the clinic remains financially sustainable over the long term. The series of five self-study modules present clinic staff with information about strategic planning; revenue; expenses; managing finances; and grants, contracts, and fundraising. The modules provide information about developing a business plan and include links to budget planning spreadsheet that allows users to enter and analyze data and save the analysis of the financial impacts of different decisions, assumptions, and costs. Guidance is offered on estimating revenue and expenses, developing a budget, and assessing financial sustainability. The modules also include tips on proposal writing, managing grants and contracts, and developing a fundraising plan. The modules include both national information and information specific to Ohio.

This manual was designed to aid Region II Head Start staff in fulfilling the specific oral health goals and requirements of the Head Start Program Performance Standards. These program performance standards call for the implementation of a plan to ensure that each child receives appropriate oral health care, and for the provision of an oral health education component. The manual is divided into chapters focusing on the health services advisory committee, enrollment, record keeping and tracking, working with dentists, financing oral health care and budgeting, special programs, oral health education, oral health emergencies, and fluorides. Appendices include consent forms and letters, a glossary of oral health terms, oral health education resource materials, and resource sections specific to New York and New Jersey. The manual is intended to be a resource for daily use and is presented in a loose-leaf format to allow the user to add new information when necessary. The forms and suggestions contained in the manual were developed in consultation with Head Start personnel, oral health consultants, and representatives of various provider groups.

This report contains the results of a Nevada survey of the oral health status and treatment needs of 764 randomly selected public school students in grades 1 and 6. In addition to information about children's oral hygiene habits, the report includes sections that discuss the use of dental sealants, fluoridation, health professional access issues, and public funding. The survey was conducted for the Nevada State Health Division.
