About
MCHB is a bureau of the Health
Resources and Services Administration (HRSA),
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. MCHB's objective
for oral health is to promote comprehensive, community-based
oral
health care services that combine public and private delivery
systems,
maximize the effectiveness of Medicaid and SCHIP dental programs,
and encourage the application of science to practice in reducing
disease burden.
In addition to MCH forumula grants,
oral health activities are supported by Special Projects of
Regional and National Significance
(SPRANS)
grants that support a broad range
of innovative strategies (click on Projects in the toolbar at the
top of this page to view active and completed MCHB-funded projects).

Oral
Health Goals
- Improve the
health infrastructure and systems of care for all, especially
underserved, vulnerable, and special needs population to assure access to
comprehensive quality oral health services.
- Improve oral
health status and outcomes (and their measurements) in seeking
to eliminate health disparities.
- Improve the quality of
oral health services (preventive and curative) for all, especially
underserved, vulnerable, and special needs populations.
- Promote oral
health through building public-private partnerships including
strengthening the dental public health infrastructure.
