1. Frequently Asked Questions

This section of the National Head Start Oral Health Resource Center's Web site was recently updated to include two new questions addressing the following topics: (1) how adults can encourage infants and young children to cooperate with toothbrushing and (2) the importance and safety of oral health care for women during pregnancy. Where possible, the answers are based on scientific evidence. Where scientific evidence is inconclusive or unavailable, the answers are based on expert opinion. Citations of relevant Head Start Program Performance Standards and references are included. [Funded by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau]

2. Kansas Final Report: Follow-Up Activities Early Head Start/Head Start State/Territorial Oral Health Forums

This final report outlines follow-up activities to a meeting held in Kansas on February 8, 2005. The meeting focused on preventing early childhood caries and improving oral health access and services for children enrolled in Head Start in Kansas. Report contents include outlines of the organizational structure of Kansas' statewide oral health coalition, a mission statement, work group assignments, and brief program descriptions. 3. Maternal Oral Health Resource Guide

This resource guide provides information and guidance aimed at improving oral health care for pregnant women. It is divided into three sections. The first section lists journal articles appearing in the literature between 2004 and 2006. The second section lists materials, including books, reports, surveys, manuals, pamphlets, and brochures.
