Office
of Head Start-Funded Projects
The Office
of Head Start's (OHS) Oral Health Initiative
provides supplemental funding to grantees over a four year period
to develop, implement, and disseminate culturally sensitive,
innovative, and empirically based best practice oral health models.
The models are locally designed and based on the needs of the
grantee's community and population served. The initiative will
promote and advance oral health education and oral health care
delivery
systems for pregnant women, infants, and children enrolled in Head
Start programs.
OHS's Innovation
and Improvement Project (IIP) provides funding to
organizations to support innovative concepts, projects, and
products to help improve the effectiveness and management
of Early Head Start and Head
Start programs. Collectively, IIP projects address a wide range
of needs and issues; there is currently one IIP grantee with a
focus on oral health.
This
database of OHS-funded projects is maintained by the National
Maternal and Child Oral Health
Resource Center. Please submit questions or corrections to Sarah
Kolo.
